This is What Young Feminists Look Like
Femmedia recently took part in the 5th Annual Big She-Bang, a feminist conference in Brooklyn put on by the magical For The Birds Feminist Collective. The theme this year was Feminist Communication and discussions ranged from feminism and creativity to youth media. The young feminist movement is definitely taking full advantage of media, social networking, blogging and micro-blogging to raise awareness and get their voices heard. Maybe Gail Collins doesn’t think we exist because she just hasn’t figured out the Internet yet. We wish she had been at the conference, since there were tons of YOUNG FEMINISTS there as evidenced by the following photos (all from For the Birds Collective’s photo gallery.
